Create Your First Domain

Create your AI website representation by creating a domain inside Privas AI.

This guide helps you create the workspace for your AI representative.

In Privas AI, a domain defines the scope in which the representative operates.
The assistant will answer questions only using the knowledge assigned to this domain.

Why this step matters

Before the representative can appear on your website, Privas AI needs to know:

  • which website the representative belongs to
  • which knowledge it is allowed to use

Creating a domain tells Privas AI:

“This representative is responsible for this specific website.”

Without a domain, the assistant has no context and cannot function correctly.

Step 1 — Open Domain Center

  1. Log in to your Privas dashboard
  2. From the sidebar, open Domain Center

This is where you manage all websites connected to Privas AI.

Step 2 — Create a new domain

  1. Click Add New Domain
  2. Enter your website hostname
  3. Upload an icon or image (optional)

Examples:

  • example.com
  • www.example.com
  • shop.example.com

Do not include:

  • https://
  • page paths like /about or /pricing

Only enter the main website address.

Note

A single organization can create multiple domains and assign different representatives to each one.

The hostname does not have to be a real public address.
It acts as an identifier for the representative’s knowledge scope.

For example, Privas AI could use:

  • privas.ai (actual hostname)
  • alfred.privas.ai (identifier name, not a real website)

Step 3 — Save the domain

Click Add Domain.

After saving, the domain will appear in your domain list.
If it does not appear immediately, refresh the page.

At this stage:

  • the representative workspace is created
  • it does not yet know anything about your business

This is expected.

What you should see

Your domain should now be visible inside the Domain Center.

No assistant will appear on your website yet — installation happens later.

Right now you have successfully created the workspace for your representative.
