Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy governs how you may use Privas AI, operated by Privas Intelligence Ltd. It forms part of our Terms of Service, and section 5 of those Terms incorporates it.

Breaching this policy is a material breach of the Terms and may result in suspension or termination.

1. Purpose

You deploy an AI assistant that speaks to the public under your organisation's name. This policy sets the boundaries that protect your visitors, other customers, and the platform.

2. Permitted use

You may use Privas AI for lawful business and organisational purposes: customer support, knowledge automation, lead capture, and website-based conversational assistance.

3. Prohibited use

You must not use Privas AI to:

Unlawful and harmful activity

  • Break any applicable law or regulation, or help anyone else to;
  • Publish content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or that promotes hate, violence, or exploitation;
  • Distribute malware, phishing content, or harmful code.

Deception

  • Deploy an assistant that impersonates a real, identifiable person;
  • Configure an assistant to deny being an AI when a visitor directly asks. You may give your assistant a name and a personality; you may not use it to deceive someone about whether they are talking to a machine;
  • Generate deliberately deceptive, fraudulent, or misleading output.

Regulated advice

  • Provide medical, legal, financial, or other regulated professional advice through an assistant without holding the licences and making the disclosures your jurisdiction requires. Where your assistant discusses regulated products — insurance, credit, investments — you are responsible for ensuring the required disclaimers appear and that any figures are presented as indicative rather than binding.

Restricted sectors

  • Operate gambling, cryptocurrency trading, or financial betting services.

Rights of others

  • Upload knowledge sources you do not own or have permission to use;
  • Submit content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, or confidentiality rights;
  • Deploy an assistant on a website you do not own or operate.

Platform integrity

  • Attempt unauthorised access to systems, accounts, or another customer's data;
  • Reverse-engineer, probe, or circumvent platform controls, including plan limits and the prompt guardrails;
  • Place automated or excessive load on the service, including scripted traffic against the chat endpoints;
  • Resell or make the platform available to third parties as a service, except under a separate written agreement. Where you hold a Master Service Agreement, see its section 6.

4. Your responsibilities to your visitors

Because you are the data controller for people who chat with your assistant, you must:

  • Tell visitors they are interacting with an AI system;
  • Maintain a privacy notice covering the assistant, as described in section 3 of the Terms of Service and Part B of the Privacy Policy;
  • Not configure an assistant to solicit sensitive personal information — health data, government identity numbers, payment card details, or passwords — through the chat window.

5. Security and account protection

You are responsible for protecting your account credentials, collaborator access, and any tokens you configure for external integrations. Tell us at [email protected] if you suspect a compromise.

Where you connect an external tool server, you are responsible for its security and for the credentials you supply to it.

6. Enforcement

Where we identify a breach, we may — depending on severity — contact you to resolve it, remove or disable specific content or configuration, suspend the affected assistant or account, or terminate the account.

We will normally contact you first and allow a reasonable opportunity to fix the problem. We may act immediately and without notice where the breach poses a security risk, threatens platform stability, is unlawful, or exposes us to liability.

7. Reporting abuse

To report a Privas AI assistant that appears to breach this policy, email [email protected] with the website address and what you observed.

Complaints about the substance of what a particular assistant said are ordinarily a matter for the organisation operating it, and we will forward your report to them. Where the conduct breaches this policy, we will also act on it directly.

8. Updates to this policy

We may revise this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes are notified in accordance with section 19 of the Terms of Service.
