Domain Isolation

Each domain in Privas AI is a separate environment. A representative answers using only the information defined for its own domain, and cannot reach another domain's data. This is a core principle of the platform.

What is isolated

When you create a domain, Privas AI creates a separate environment for that assistant. Inside a domain, these are kept separate from every other domain:

• Knowledge sources
• Conversations
• AI configuration
• Team access
• Share links
• Widget settings

Why this matters

Isolation lets the assistant act as a trusted representative of one website. Because it uses only that domain's knowledge, answers stay relevant, sensitive information stays contained, conversations stay separated between projects, and behaviour stays consistent with that organization's identity.

For businesses running several websites or brands, this prevents knowledge from mixing between assistants.

Example

A company might run several sites, each with its own representative:

Domain	Assistant role
company.com	General company information
product.com	Product support and features
docs.company.com	Documentation guidance

Even though they belong to the same organization, each assistant uses only the sources assigned to its own domain.

How it works in practice

When a visitor interacts with the widget, the request is routed to the assistant for that specific domain, knowledge is retrieved only from that domain's sources, and the response is generated from those materials alone. The assistant cannot access another domain's knowledge.

Managing multiple domains

You can create and manage multiple domains in one account, each with its own knowledge, behaviour, widget, and team. See Plan Limits for how many domains your plan allows.
