Before you begin setup, it helps to understand what you are actually creating.

Privas AI is not a typical chatbot. You are not installing a support widget, and you are not configuring an automated reply system. You are creating a website representative.

What Privas AI does

Every website explains something: a service, a product, a company, a process. But visitors rarely read a website end to end. They skim, jump between pages, or leave with questions unanswered.

Privas AI turns your website into a place where visitors can ask directly instead of searching manually. The assistant answers using the knowledge you provide, so its answers stay consistent, accurate, and safe to put in front of customers.

Think of it as a trained staff member who speaks about your organization and nothing else.

What you are setting up

A Privas AI representative is made of four parts:

1. Identity. Who the assistant represents and how it introduces your organization.
2. Behaviour. How it communicates: tone, clarity, and response style.
3. Knowledge. The information it is allowed to use when answering visitors.
4. Access. Where people interact with it (a share link or a website widget).

Once configured, the assistant answers visitor questions around the clock, within the scope you define.

What Privas AI is not

Privas AI is intentionally limited. It is not a general-purpose AI. It will not answer unrelated topics, personal questions, or world knowledge outside your website. That is by design: visitors should trust that answers reflect your organization, not a generic internet AI.

The assistant does not browse the internet on its own. It answers from the knowledge you add. If you later connect a live system through an integration, the assistant can also read live data from that system during a conversation. See Integrations & Agent Access. No domain has an integration unless you set one up.
