Install Privas AI on Joomla

Embed the AI representative on a Joomla

Joomla allows you to embed external content using the **Embed ** feature. You can use this capability to add the Privas AI representative to your website without editing any code.

This guide explains how to embed the Privas AI widget inside a Joomla page so visitors can interact with your assistant directly from your site.

Why this matters

Embedding the assistant in Joomla:

  • Makes your AI representative accessible to visitors
  • Keeps communication consistent
  • Does not require editing template files

This affects only the article where you place the embed code.

It does not modify your Joomla theme, extensions, SEO configuration, or global site settings.

Before You Start

Make sure you have:

  • Access to your Joomla Administrator dashboard
  • Your Privas AI Website Widget Embed Code

You can copy the embed code from your Privas AI Domain Dashboard.

Privas AI Embed Script

Step 1 — Open the Content Manager

  1. Log in to your Joomla Administrator Panel.
  2. From the left sidebar, click Content.

Step 2 — Create a New Article

  1. From the dropdown under Content, click Articles.
  2. In the top-right corner of the Articles page, click Add New.

Step 3 — Add a Title

  1. Enter a title in the Title field.

This can be something like:

  • “AI Assistant”
  • “Chat with Us”
  • “Virtual Assistant”

Step 4 — Switch to Source Code View

  1. In the Article Text section, click the Three Dots icon in the editor toolbar.

  1. From the menu that appears, click the Source Code icon.

This opens the HTML source editor.

Step 5 — Paste the Privas AI Embed Code

  1. Inside the Source Code modal, paste your Privas AI Embed Code.
  2. Click Save inside the modal.

Step 6 — Save the Article

  1. Click Save & Close in the upper-left corner.

After saving, visit your website and open the article.

You should now see the chat icon appear.

What This Installation Does — and Does Not Do

This installation:

✔ Displays your assistant on the selected article
✔ Loads securely for visitors
✔ Works independently from Joomla extensions

It does NOT:

✘ Modify your template layout
✘ Change navigation menus
✘ Affect user accounts or permissions
✘ Alter SEO metadata

The widget simply connects your Joomla page to your configured Privas AI domain.

Optional — Show the Assistant on All Pages

If you want the assistant available site-wide:

  1. Go to System → Site Templates.
  2. Open your active template.
  3. Edit the index.php file.
  4. Paste the embed code before the closing </body> tag.
  5. Save your changes.

This affects your entire website.

It does not change content or layout styling.

If the Widget Does Not Appear

  • Confirm the embed code was pasted in Source Code mode
  • Make sure the article is Published
  • Clear your browser cache
  • Verify that your template does not block custom scripts
