Install Privas AI on Big Commerce

Big Commerce you to embed external content using the **Embed ** feature. You can use this capability to add the Privas AI representative to your website without editing any code.

This guide explains how to embed the Privas AI widget inside a Big Commerce so visitors can interact with your assistant directly from your site.

Why this matters

Embedding the assistant in BigCommerce:

  • Makes your AI representative available to visitors
  • Keeps communication consistent across your store
  • Does not require editing core theme files

This affects only the page where you paste the embed code.

It does not modify your products, checkout flow, payment settings, or store configuration.

Before You Start

Make sure you have:

  • Access to your BigCommerce Admin dashboard
  • Your Privas AI Website Widget Embed Code

You can copy the embed code from your Privas AI Domain Dashboard.

Privas AI Embed Script

Step 1 — Open Web Pages

  1. Log in to your BigCommerce Account.
  2. In the left-side menu, click Storefront.

  1. From the dropdown menu, click Web Pages.

Step 2 — Edit the Page

  1. Locate the page where you want to add the assistant.
  2. Click the Three Dots icon next to the page.
  3. Select Edit.

Step 3 — Switch to Source Code View

  1. In the Web Page Details section, locate Page Content.
  2. Click the Source Code icon in the editor toolbar.

This opens the HTML editor.

Step 4 — Paste the Privas AI Embed Code

  1. In the Source Code window, paste your Privas AI Embed Code.
  2. Click OK.

Step 5 — Save Your Changes

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the page.
  2. Click Save & Exit.

After saving, visit your store and refresh the page.

You should now see the chat icon appear.

What This Installation Does — and Does Not Do

This installation:

✔ Displays your assistant on the selected page
✔ Loads securely for visitors
✔ Works independently from BigCommerce store features

It does NOT:

✘ Modify product listings
✘ Change checkout or payment processing
✘ Affect inventory management
✘ Alter SEO configuration

The widget simply connects your BigCommerce page to your configured Privas AI domain.

Optional — Install Site-Wide (Advanced)

If you want the assistant to appear on every page:

  1. Go to Storefront → Script Manager.
  2. Click Create a Script.
  3. Paste your Privas AI embed code.
  4. Set location to Footer.
  5. Choose All Pages.
  6. Save.

This affects your entire storefront.

It does not modify store content or product data.

If the Widget Does Not Appear

  • Confirm the embed code was pasted in Source Code mode
  • Make sure you clicked Save & Exit
  • Clear your browser cache and refresh
  • Check that scripts are not restricted by store security settings
